1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Use with other information; it's not all here By Fred W. Haynes manuals are generally good. However, when it comes to specifics, they should be used with supplementary information. For example, the manual recommends 5W-30 or 10W-30 oil. This oil is not appropriate for the 2008 5.7 liter Tundra, for example, as the Toyota manual recommends 0W-20 or 5W-20 oil. The index is not much help either. If you look for Oil Change, you won't find it. You have to look under Engine to find the procedure. Changing oil on these vehicles can be a messy process. Using a plastic bottle to drain the oil from the filter housing will help keep everything cleaner. This is not mentioned in the manual. The manual has a photo of the tools needed for an oil change, including a cap-type filter wrench. However, the actual procedure shows a special tool (not the cap wrench) or a band-type wrench being used.

Someone looking to get a solid basic grasp of their vehicle should start with one of these.
