I used it extensively prior to taking the exam and am quite glad that I did, considering the depth of material tested. I hadn't done some of that math in over 15 years. Having said that - I just wanted to forewarn anyone who purchases this edition to be aware that there's actually an answer error in the first practice test. I notified the Princeton Review and they are adjusting the problem. Here is their response:"Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion this caused. You're correct-- question #24 should read D. I used this book to help me prepare for and pass the CBEST test and get my California teaching credentials. I like that this book has very detailed topic reviews. It was very helpful but I found it necessary to use other study guides (the Teaching Solutions CBEST book and the Cliff notes CBEST book) to make sure I covered as much information as possible for the test. The CBEST book from teaching solutions has very good practice tests. This strategy to use more than one study guide worked for me as I did pass when I took the test.

I studied the Reading and Mathematics section the last four days and took my test via computer today. I got a 52 on the English and a 62 on the Math, I just have to wait for my essay results. I glossed over the essay review because I felt confident in the essay department.The reason I gave this test 4 stars is because the math section had me studying things that weren't on the test. Please believe them when they talk about time management. Do yourself a favor and time yourself when your doing the practice test. I got to see where I needed extra time. When I took the test I spent an hour and ten minutes on the reading, an hour and twenty on the math and 30 minutes for each essay. I had plenty of time to review my essay and problems I flagged. Now I just need to sit and wait for my essay results.

It really reminds me to "Enjoy the Moment" and to look at me instead of elsewhere for Happiness. I color for several reasons. I started out just because it helped with my PTSD but now I color because I truly love doing it. This awesome inspirational book has 30 pages available to color, 8 pages colored showing what colors they used and 5 pages of Tips, Techniques, and Theories. Each of the 30 pages has a message that will help to brighten your day and on the back of each of these pages there is an inspirational message.I love that the coloring pages are fairly simple because they really allow you to relax and enjoy what you are doing. All the flowers, butterflies, lines, shapes, hearts and words are all able to be colored and a lot able to be made your own as shown in the front of the book. This is a great book! All pictures are printed on one side on medium weight paper. I would still recommend using another sheet under the page if using anything other than pencils. The pages are very easy to remove from the book which is a huge plus. I love coloring pages and sending them to friends. The paper is not too thin but not thick enough for some markers. Great for colored pencils & gel pens. By Alexx Klepper Wow, what a book!I sat down to read The Firefighter Preplan with my highlighters and pen; however, after reading the intro and first chapter, I couldn't slow myself down. I got through the whole book in two short sittings and have since gone back through half with a fine tooth comb. This book has a perfect mix of motivation, guidance and applicability. True to form, there is no fluff, David brings to the table a refreshing dose of frankness without being overly brief. The action plans at the end of each chapter are smart and to the point and the plan in the back can serve as a model throughout any ones career when setting goals. I'm relatively young in my FD career (6years) and I see myself referring to this Preplan over and over for motivation and guidance to set myself on task and continue working toward becoming a respectable firefighter. Do yourself a favor, get this book and share it with others so we can leave the fire service better than we found it.

Easy read, short, and to the point with "action plans" at the end of each chapter to help you stay on track and get results. They are also a great tool to model throughout your career, for setting goals. Great enhancement for mentoring programs; or those who don't have a program established can piggy back off of this book to help develop one as it serves as a great auxiliary.FF Preplan has roughly 32 chapters (so almost a chapter a day to maintain, once completed) and another way to recharge your batteries, get fired up, and motivated to be that best firefighter you know and want to be; while making the good advances and steps to help out and bring as many as you can with you to get up... be driven... and make something of yourself, for the better.I would challenge you to pick up a copy and join me, and many others, through this book. By Jen McDonough As a first year volunteer firefighter, I found Fighterfighter Preplan to have many of the "unwritten" rules that are so essential to gaining ground in any new adventure. Being that we all come to the fire service with different experience, personalty styles, and expectations it is helpful to see the "big picture" of what to expect and also to know what makes a great firefighter. From a mental and physical strength perspective, I appreciated the insight as it had valuable insight to help many. GRATEFUL for this book!

• Isolate theunknown term by subtracting 3 from both sides: -2 = x/2.
• Multiply both sidesby 2 to get -4 = x.

TIPS ON CHECKING YOUR ANSWERS: There can be multiple ways of expressing the same answer. Here are a few examples:

• Student's answer = 12/8. Listed answer = 3/2. Both are the same. It's standard form to reduce fractions when possible, so the book lists 3/2 as the answer. The student's answer of 12/8 is not technically incorrect.
• Student's answer = 1/sqrt(2). Listed answer = sqrt(2)/2. Both are the same. It's standard form to rationalize the denominator, so the book lists sqrt(2)/2 as the answer. Multiply both numerator and denominator by squareroot(2) to go from 1/sqrt(2) to sqrt(2)/2.
• Student's answer = sqrt(12). Listed answer = 2sqrt(3). Both are the same. It's standard form to factor out perfect squares, so the book lists 2sqrt(3) as the answer. Squareroot(12) = squareroot(3 x 4) = squareroot(3) x squareroot(4) = 2 x squareroot(3).

Students who don't reduce their fractions, factor out perfect squares, or rationalize their denominators may feel that the book's answer is incorrect, but that's not the case. Even some popular online equation solvers fail to rationalize the denominator, so a student who obtains 1/sqrt(2) as the answer and gets the same answer with an online equation solver might wonder if the book's answer of sqrt(2)/2 is incorrect. However, the book's answer is correct, and is also in standard form.There is a simple way to check your answers. Enter both expressions in your calculator and display the answer as a decimal. This way, you can see that both 1/sqrt(2) and sqrt(2)/2 equal 0.70710678... If you reduce your fractions, factor out perfect squares, and rationalize your denominators, this won't be an issue.

The explanations and examples are ideal for mastering Algebra. It is not something that you can just "pick up". It has to be practiced. This book is a great help.

I'm going back to school now and this book helped me prepare for an intermediate algebra course. It's foundation learning in which each section builds upon previous sections. Instructions are also very clear.Plan on many hours of work.Also to note, the author allows use of problems for students, such as if one were a math teacher needing extra equations for assignments.

The only drawback is that the problems aren't numbered on the pages or on the answer key & so it's a little bit if a challenge trying to decipher what each answer is.

By Avram Jezer Pros:- Book is well divided and easy to use- Detailed explanations (better than Princeton Review's "plug it in" method)- Good value. $11 for over 700 pages- Good insight into the essay sectionCons- Extremely weak grammar. No explanations on grammar usage or why a certain choice is correct- Answer explanations take out a huge chunk of the book. (Pages 525-729)- Some typos. I've marked down a few so far. Pg 667, B should be D, etc. There are a few more.- Only 1 practice test in the book. You have to register online to receive the other two.- Another reviewer pointed this out: that the stats section was weak. Imo, the sections are designed for review--not to learning. However, I could see a student that has no idea what stats are struggling.- No scoring (this is not Kaplan's fault, but because the collegeboard hasn't released a scoring scale yet)Difficulty Level:7/10. I expect the actual SAT to be a little more difficultShould I take the current or new SAT?If you're a member of the class of 2017, I recommend the current one if you are concerned with math. The new SAT adds new topics such as stats, trig, data analytics, etc. Additionally, I found that many "common core, real life scenario" problems took longer for students to read. Who cares if Bob owns a barber shop in Texas????Overall, I'll give plaudits to Kaplan for being the first to release a review book for the new SAT. Is it perfect? No. In fact, I would recommend that you wait for the 2nd edition if you are in the class of 2018.

By Lisa Baker This is an outstanding prep book for the SAT exam.Besides having 3 complete practice exams (1 in the book; 2 online), the best part is that there is easy-to-follow explanations to the answers for the practice questions.Our son is taking the old format SAT this October and then will use this book for the new SAT format test in January. Hopefully, this book will show an improvement in his scores.One other benefit is that the book explains the difference between the old and new formats, which is very helpful for those students taking both the old and new SAT test.Great value for the potential benefit of higher scores.

Get Kaplan New SAT 2016 Premier Instead By ChristineMM Update 10/28/15: Now that I have Kaplan New SAT Premier 2016 with 5 Practice Tests: Personalized Feedback + Book + Online + DVD + Mobile (Kaplan Test Prep) and was able to do a side by side comparison I recommend Premier not this one. Why? You get more for your money with video lessons and tips via DVD. Premier is larger at 1337 pages vs. 691. Premier has 2 tests inside and 3 online and this book has 1 in the book and 2 online.Original review: This is the first Kaplan book published for the NEW SAT which will begin to be used in 2016. Since the test's redesign it is important to use a prep book that aligns with the new test.All of Kaplan's test prep books use the same approach. What makes the Kaplan books unique is that they use the Kaplan method for how to approach each question, how to read it, choosing a strategy for answering it, double checking the answer. So the section begins by teaching The Kaplan Method then it launches into an explanation of what that section of the test is about and the different types of questions to test that topic. The explaining part is labeled prepare and then there is perform where it is done a little. If confused by the topic there is an extra practice section that follows.There is one full practice tests inside the book and two more that you can access online when you register your book's serial number. The online account offers adaptive practice based on your online performance. If you want even more practice with paper tests, Kaplan has released a different book that is only practice tests, with NO review of content.All Kaplan books promote their "higher score guaranteed" policy which is explained in more detail on the inside front cover. Basically if your score does not improve after using the book you can get a refund on the purchase price of your book but you have to file that refund within 90 days of buying the book. Thus this policy negates the general recommendations of SAT prep which is to start at least a year before and do a shorter period of practice daily or multiple times a week spread over many months instead of a cram in one or three months. I don't like their money back guarantee as I know it takes a couple of months to get the result so the timeframe requirments are not fair or really possible.I rate this 5 stars = I Love It based on the book itself and I put my dislike of their money back guarantee's too short timeframe to the side in that judgement. This book is intended for self-study at home. If the book is not used as Kaplan recommends it won't help the student. They need to get familiar with the test (which also helps reduce stress and anxiety at test taking day), learn and know the content and then be able to practice with practice tests enough to feel comfortable with the test taking process so they have more brain power to focus on selecting corrrect answers. If a student is not self-motivated or has poor self-discipline with practice, they should take classes since those have firm deadlines and attendance requirements. Once you register this book you will see Kaplan pitching to pay to join a Kaplan class. The great thing about test prep book is if the student is willing to self-teach and self-prepare it's all laid out for them here for a low cost compared to the cost of classes. Some schools offer low cost prep classes but they are often short and not customized or as intense as the paid classes by the various test prep companies.

This book is the exact same as the "NCLEX-RN PREMIER 2015-2016". The only difference is that the "PREMIER" version has the 2 practice tests. Very bugged that they were bundled together. I didn't realize they were the same book. The practice test in this book is Exactly the same as the Premier version as well. Do not purchase this book. Spend an extra few bucks for the Premier version. DO NOT BUNDLE WITH PREMIER. I wish i had looked into that before purchasing it.

The book arrived intact, clean, and within the shipping timeframe promised. Passed NCLEX in 75 questions with the help of a few of these strategies.

So, I thought that this book might come helpful for her. But, before giving her the book, I thought of reading the book myself to check its quality. After reading the book, I must say that I'm pretty amazed by it. This is a very fine book. The author knew what he was writing about. Though I'm not sure about the credibility of the book as I I don't know that much about nursing, but still, the 105 practice questions seemed very useful for eye, ear, nose and throat disorders.I just hope that my girlfriend becomes happy with me after reading the book!

It is packed with all the right questions that you can expect to see when you take your exam to become a nurse. Not only does it contain the questions, but also the answers and explanations. That is a key part to passing your exam.I can't imagine ever attempting the test without having gone through a book just like this one. The price is affordable and it really does and will make a difference for you. Definitely recommend!

By Zell This is a awfully basic book. it's not for a student that's simply learning the knowledge thence the title nclex . it's a lot of of a review book for those who have already been exposed to the knowledge and want a fast book for a fast reminder of things. I likable however they were written in note card kind. there have been some med that I knew vital info was missing, that created Maine surprise concerning the opposite medication i used to be not as accustomed to.
